Wasn't there email last week that the Hamburg Emigration page got an award? And wasn't it mentioned that the entire site had been earlier awarded?
I always wondered why clumsy pages got awards but not ours (I wondered whether we had to apply for an award)
I don't know -- perhaps they are "Mutual Award Societies". I suspect some will not give an award unless the site in question first links to them. Rick

No, it is more sinister than that. They're hoping you brag about your award, effectively giving them free advertising. You can even put their award logo in your web page, and when the user clicks on it, they whiz away to the awarder's website, usually a commercial operation.
