Hello--My father's family name is Blessman from Hannover, Germany. Is 
it possible there is a spelling error in our name or yours? (Gliessman 
and Blessman) His great-grandfather come to New Orleans about the 
1850s, sailed up the river and landed at Mason County, IL. I have not 
been able to trace the family back into Germany, but I do understand 
there are Blessmans listed in Hannover area phone books at the present 
time. I've also been told by one person that Plassman might be a form 
of the same family name. I'm just curious if anyone out there thinks 
there is a phonetic connection somewhere along the way.
