Dear Ms. Townsend Spangrude, Moravia (Mähren) at this time had no ministers.Till 1620 it was ruled by Bohemia (Prague), then (1620 - 1860) by Austria (Vienna).
The protestants had to leave Moravia about 1620 - 1640, then nearly 100% of the people there were catholics. So Johann Michael Harmon (Hermann), born 1670, couldn't have been a victim of religious persecution in Moravia.
The story about the castle, located on a hill that, depending on how the river flowed each year, was sometimes in Germany and sometimes in Switzerland sounds like a fairy-tale. I don't believe in!

Looking for information on Johann Michael Harmon (Hermann) born 1670 in the MIttelfranken, Wurttemburg, Germany. Married Kundigunda Regis March 1698 in Germany. Supposedly came from a castle near the southwest corner of Baden-Wurttemburg, located on a hill that, depending on how the river flowed each year, was sometimes in Germany and sometimes in Switzerland. Sometime between 1650 and 1700 there was a civil war in the region and the castle burned. Johann gathered all his sons and wife, and came to Philadelphia in 1725/1726 on the "Charlotte". All his sons were trained to be Moravian ministers. It is also said that Johan was born in Moravia and was forced to flee due to religious persecution. He then lived in Germany near the Danube river while raising his sons. Would like to know exactly where this Johann came from in Germany or Moravia; any help would be appreciated.
