Larry:

Hersbruck is one of the world's major centers of hop growing ( hop variety
Hersbrucker Hallertau comes from here). Nurnberg is the great center of the
European hop trade. (From the perspective of my industry).

Hi Anastasy:

Thanks for the information. While investigating my genealogy in Hersbruck, everyone of my ancestors was a beer brewer. They were something else first but always brewed beer secondary. It must be like a hobby of sorts.

Oberstreu

Date: 2000/03/23 08:20:59
From: Robert Loerzel <loerzel(a)mediaone.net>

Hello. I am a new member of this list.

My grandfather, Robert Loerzel, was born in Oberstreu in Unterfranken on
14 February 1891. His father, Joseph Loerzel, was born on 22 March 1856
in Oberstreu. In 1881, Joseph Loerzel married Rosina Hobech, who was
born in 1861.

Does anyone have any information on this family?

I will be visiting Oberstreu on June 1 and 2, and I would greatly
appreciate any advice on how to go about researching family history
while I am there. I have already written letters to the church in
Oberstreu, the burgermeister and a possible relative in the hope of
finding some records of my family.

Hallo. Ich bin ein neues Mitgleid von dieser List.

Mein Großvater, Robert Lörzel, war am 14. Februar 1891 in Oberstreu
geboren. Sein Vater, der hieß Joseph Lörzel, war am 22. März 1856 in
Oberstreu geboren. Joseph Lörzel heiratete 1881 Rosina Hobech, die 1861
geboren war.

Hat jemand Information über diese Familie?

Ich werde 1. und 2. Juni Oberstreu besuchen.

Date: 2000/03/27 03:03:17
From: Richard K. Konkel <richardkonkel(a)yahoo.com>

My great great grandfather, GEORG ÜBLER was born Feb
7, 1819 in Bavaria. I do not know what town he
originated from. His brother, JOHANN GEORG ÜBLER was
born about 1822. GEORG emigrated to America about
1843. he settled in York County, Pennsylvania. His
first wife was MAGDALENA KRAUSS also from Barvaria.
The second wife was ANNA MARGARETHA SCHUMM b. 1832 in
Frimmersdorf, Kreis Höchstadt a.d. Aisch, Oberfranken.
Her sister, EVA MAGDALENA SCHUMM was the wife of
JOHANN GEORG ÜBLER. JOHANN GEORG did not come to York
County until about 1854. The family of CONRAD
HEUBECK/HEIBECK is also associated with the ÜBLER
family. The ÜBLER name is common in Mittelfranken and
Oberpfalz. Any help in finding this families origins
would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Richard K. Konkel, Esq.
York, Pennsylvania
