Hi,until now, I store all my data in Brotherskeeper-Gen-Database, and I convert it with ged2html into internet pages in html. For ged2htlm I had to pay for the licence. Now, I found ged2web:
http://www.oramwt.demon.co.uk/GED2WEB/ged2web.htmIt is consting nothing, you only have to register, it is easier to use, and it is -my opinion- better, since you can get also for each person ancestor and descendents chars. I'll put it soon also on my page.

George: I also wrote last year and they were responsive and helpful then. I just spent 2 weeks in Unter Franken and a day in Wurzburg. Suggest you check carefully the street address, hours, whether an appointment is needed, and holidays, before going - I had trouble with the Staatsarchiv on my trip in all those areas. I know that Diozesan-Archiv is microfilming records from my Eichenbuhl church now. I don't know how to format the address, but here goes: Herr Leonhard Rugel, Hockwaldstr.9, 97769 Bad Brückenau, Germany he doesn't speak English, but his wife sorta does! He's not young, and doesn't respond quickly, from what I've seen. Hi, I contacted Mrs. Uhlich in Wuerzburg, and she told me that she is only researching on her own behalf, and not working as professional genealogist. Well, that leaves me with the problem that I need somebody to go to the archive at Wuerzburg to look up some things for me. Who might help me??
Ciao Bernd Karen, Pardon me for butting in, but I had a Wuerzburg genealogist recommended to me several years ago by a knowledgeable person at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. I have not personally used this person, but she might be a useful resource for you: Diethild Uhlich Crevennastr. 10 97072 Würzburg Germany Genealogist for hire, ~$25/hour 0931/56814 I also had the two following people recommended to me last August as "fully qualified" with rates set by an "offical ordinance". Again, I have no personal experience Dr. Dirk Rosenstock, Uhlanderstr. 11, 97072, Würzburg Dr. Ekkard Schöffler, Bohnesmühlgasse 2, 97070 Würzburg I plan to visit the Diocesan Archive in Würzburg this fall. I would much appreciate anything you can tell me about your experiences. >Sorry to be a pest, but having read your letter to another inquirer, you >recommended a privated genealogist in his area. Schwabach is a fairly sizeable city just south of Nürnburg. I'm not perfectly sure whether this is in Franconia, but it is certainly. It is most likely in the part called Oberfranken. There is also a small place called Schwabbach, located just off the A6 Autobahn east of Heilbronn. Good hunting, George

Hi Bernice Hinz! There is really a small city named Schwabach in Franconia, exactly in Mittelfranken (middle franconia). You can find Schwabach 16 kilometres south of Nuremberg (the town with the famous Christkindlesmarkt, Hans Sachs, Albrecht Duerer, Bratwurst). In the moment I don't know a english book about Schwabach. If you speak german I can send you a booklet for free. Most books are written by Heinrich Schlüpfinger and cost between 30 and 50 (DM) german marks. You can find some more infos on my website www.santa-claus.de/sc.htm or on the official Schwabach site www.schwabach.de Greetings Claus Hummel Stadtparkstr. 21 c 91126 Schwabach claus(a)santa-claus.de www.santa-claus.de > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-franken-l(a)genealogy.net > [mailto:owner-franken-l(a)genealogy.net]On Behalf Of Bernice Hinz > Sent: Samstag, 19. Just curious... I know there is a Papier Schonder in Bischofsheim and I think Hans Schonder sells books too. Anyone from Germany know of this store and what kind of books he sells. There are 3 Schonder stores next to one another. Schuh Schonder (Emil Schonder), Schonder Foto (Ralph Schonder) and Papier Schonder (Hans Schonder) I only know this because 3 years ago I found Hans' son Matthias on the internet and he told me about it, but I don't have contact with him anymore. All Schonder's to date in the US have ties to the town of Bischofsheim which I think is in unten Franken/lower Franconia. Hi,
My husband's family lines are in Geiselbach and Omersbach in
Unterfranken. His great-grandfather, Lorenz Rienecker was the son of
Johann Rienecker and Anna Maria Voelker. Johann and Anna Maria later
emigrated to Brooklyn, N.Y. About 1885 Lorenz, his wife, Agatha
Hornung, and their seven children emigrated to Brooklyn. Lorenz, his
parents and siblings were born in Geiselbach. His wife and children
were born in Omersbach.
I received more information from writing to the State Archives of
Unterfranken. They gave me the name
of Johann and Anna Maria's parents. Johann's parents were Johann Adam
Rienecker and Barbara Heilmann, who were probably born in the 1770's.
(I also got information about Barbara's death date, so she was probably
born about 1774.) The parents of Anna Maria Voelker were Johann Voelker
and Eva Ries. (Again the archives had her death record, so I estimated
that she was born about 1791.) Are any of you descendants of any of
these people? I will share any Rienecker information that I have, if
you are.
My husband's great-grandmother, Agatha Hornung was born in 1843 in
Omersbach. Her mother was Anna Maria Hornung. Several years ago when we
first found out that
these people came from Omersbach we began to correspond with a Hornung
family there. He told us that his great grandfather had taken my
husband's great-grandparents and their children to Bremen in a little
cattle wagon.
Is anyone looking for the Hornung family of Omersbach.
The Address for the State Archives is as follows:
Staatsarchiv Wuerzburg, 97034 Wuerzburg, Germany. If you have an exact
birthplace for your ancestor, they might be able to help you.
Thank you for any help that you can give me.
Karla Nurnberg

The Genealogy Network
Report Nr 2 June 1999
----------------------
Dear friends of Genealogy Net,
Genealogy Network depends on your help !
Since October 1996 via genealogy.net we support genealogy in the German
research area in the internet.
Our service is based on:
+ Webpages on German genealogy
Server: www.genealogy.net in Kerpen, Germany
www2.genealogy.net in Giessen, Germany
german.genealogy.net in Clovis, CA, USA
+ Mailing lists
a) Mailing lists of German and Swiss Genealogy organisations
Several organisations sponsor Genealogy Network with DM 200.
annually.
Many thanks !
b) Regional mailing lists
c) Surname mailing lists (in preparation)
If you would like to know more about the mailing lists please write to
"majordom(a)genealogy.net"
Server: majordomo(a)genealogy.net in Kerpen, Germany
+ private genealogy homepages
Server: www.genealogy.net/privat/ in Kerpen, Germany
Private genealogy homepages are advertising-free since we do not
wish to overload their
important content with unessentials;
as well, these private homepages feature in our
"What's new" service.
For this, the owners of the private pages sponsor Genealogy Net
with DM 60.00 annually.
Many thanks !
If you would like to know more about the private genealogy homepages
please write to
"sponsor(a)genealogy.net"
+ genealogy URL database
At the moment the genealogy URL database lists over 300 links to
private genealogy homepages.
Each entry is examined before being added to the database.
Entries which do not consist primarily of personal genealogical
material are not accepted.
As well, those pages are rejected whose Java scripts contain
errors which lead to error messages on various
browsers or which try to access the client's computer.
Owners of rejected pages are not notified. If a few days after
you have sent your URL to the database it does not appear,
please examine the content of your page as well as the Java
programing. If you yourself have not used any Java scripts in
your page, then your page has been rejected because of the faulty
Java script in the advertisements of your provider.
The entire database can be viewed at:
