Dear Mr. Lochmiller,

It depends on what you mean by "a separate religion". The Lutheran
protestants have what is called the "Augsburger Bekenntnis" or the
"Confessio Augustana". That is a statement of what they all believe,
only facts from the bible. In general all protestants hold only the
bible as the word of God which they have to obey. This cannot be
substituted or replaced by any other rules or traditions as in most
other churches. Would you say now this is "a separate religion"?
