Paul

I think none significance.
Marie Getrud sounds very German.
If the person comes from a family where more then one person is named Marie or Getrud or both, it's obvious that some family members will be (nick)named otherwise.

Hello List:

If a person is christen Maria Gertrud born in Epe, Germany.

Then in America changes her name to Katharina.

Is there any significance there?

Thanks; Paul
