I am wondering if you have any record of Gerdes'.   My  grandfather's name 
was Johann Heinrich Gerdes, his birthdate  Aug. 11  1889.  His other sibling 
that came to America in the early 1900's were  Gerhardina married a Gronewald,  
Trintje who married a Wolken, and George  Gerdes.  They pretty much all settled 
into Gage county Nebraska, USA.   He did have a brother who stayed in 
Germany, Hinrich Harm Gerdes, who fought in  WWII, and died Jan 21 1945.  In his 
obituary from the german newpaper, they  listed other names.  Siebels, Engelbarts 
and Oellermann.   Which  my question to you is our family would like more info 
about the ones who stayed  in Germany..... I don't know if it is possible???  
The parents names, My  great-grandparents, where John Henry, who I have heard 
was a sailor??? and  Fredericka with the maiden name of Hippen???? I would 
love to know more.
