Hello to the Oldenburg list,

     I have recently signed onto this list and have found the topic
interesting.  I am looking for further information or help in find my
surnames that came from the Oldenburg area.  Could someone also tell me if
Ardorf is in Oldenburg or Ost Friesland.  I have found conflicting answers
to that question.  My ancestors are as follows.

Johann Hinrich MARKFELD (MARKSFELDT, MARKSFELD)--- (father) August MARKFELD
OR MARKSFELD; I do not know his mother's name
born: 23 Oct 1795 in Schortens
died:  5 Jun 1856 in Jever
Spouses were: 
1. Eva Margarethe CHRISTOPHERS 
                      No information on her
Their children were:
Johann Classen---no information other than marriage to Metha Margarethe
GERDES    
Johann Friedrich---born 23 May 1819 in Schortens and died 14 Apr 1869 in
Jever; married Adelheids Margarethe JURGENS
Runwe Margarethe---no information other marriage to Johann WESSELS    
Eve Margarethe---born 13 Feb 1825 in Schortens and died 28 Dec 1827 in
Schortens

2. Etta Catharina PAUS   married abt 1830 in ?
born: 17 Mar 1796 in ?
died: 11 Feb 1866 in Jever
Their children were:
Eilert Hinrich---born 5 May 1833 in Jever and died 11 May 1833 in Jever
Anke Catharine---born 18 Apr 1835 in Jever and died 23 Jun 1835 in Jever

I heard at one time there was an OSB being worked on for Schortens.  I did
not hear if it was ever completed or not.  Does anyone know?  If anyone can
help me in my search for these families I would be most grateful.  Thank you
so much.
