I can tell you that I have got "Wolke" family too. My Wolke-family came from Lastrup in the South-Oldenburg region (about 20 km , 12,5 miles) from Cloppenburg. They settled in Stearn County, Minnesota. It exists still a village called Lastrup.

If you are interested in having the documents about them, please let me know it.

First let me say that I have really enjoyed the recent postings, too.   They give context to our research.

Is it possible that they spent some time living in northern Kentucky?   I found 11 listings for Wolkes including church records and hospitalization records on the kenton County Library server.  I have to leave right now, but if you think this is a possibility, post later in the day and I'll give you more information.
