Subject: [OL] Deeken family
I saw this on a website and tried to write the gentleman (Philip) who
requested the information on this family. I think it is my husband's line
which I have been researching for years. Our Henry Deeken came to
Cincinnati, Oh as an immigrant in 1884-86 and trained to be a tailor. He
was an apprentice there. He moved to Indiana and Illinois. Married a
Scroggins lady in Paris, Illinois, lived and Ladoga, Ind and had 5 children
born there which I have all the marriages and children. His birth date
according to his death certificate was 1868 and he was born in Oldenburg,
Germany. His mother was a Catherine and father was Heinrich Deeken. I
would love to hear from anyone who knows about this family; as I have been
trying to get more information from Germany so I can trace the family back
farther. I know that Henry was a Catholic and he did become a naturalized
citizen according to a grand or great daughter who is still living. I don't
know anything about his brothers and sisters and would love to know more. I
found records on him in Cincinnati at a genealogical library concerning his
address and apprenticeship.
This is a work email address above but you can write there or

Thank you for any help or information you may offer,
Pat
