Dear Listers,
      This surname and maiden name is also the custom, where my ancestors are from in Westfalen. Our 2nd Great-Grandfather took his wife's surname, because she inherited the property. When I told my older brother what the Family Surname would have been without this custom, he was not sure that he liked the idea.
