if you want to have a chance to get information on your search, it is essential to identify the area your ancestors came from.

You state that John Frederick Bernhard TONJES was born in Altenburg, near Delmonhorst, Oldenburg, Germany.

Delmonhorst means DELMENHORST?
There is no ALTENBURG near Delmenhorst (at least to my knowledge).

Where did you get this information from? Could it be a misreading of an other name?
