Hello, Does anyone have any information about the Menke or Minke family? Herman Minke was born in Prussia (Oldenburg) in. He married Maria Anna Martens also born in Oldenburg. They had a son Anthony (Anton) Minke who was born in 1833. He came to the US and settled Cumberland, MD. He died Oct 17, 1890 in Maryland. Other maternal names associated with this line (all German Catholic) are Hipp, Wegemann, Wempe, Hipshman. Richard Hipp family were stone cutters and settled in Meyersdale, PA They were from Empfingen, Germany I believe.
