I have Krogmann relatives in Hamilton Ohio, very close to Cincinnati. My great-great-grandfathers' family emigrated from Oldenberg in 1868. Most of the family stayed in Baltimore, but one brother and his family went directly to Hamilton, near Cincinnati. There were already Krogmann relatives living in that area of Ohio. One brother lived with the rest of the family in Baltimore for several years and later moved to the Cincinnati area. I have noticed that there were quite a few who came to Portsmouth Ohio too (both cities are on the Ohio River and are both port cities).
