Guten Tag, I have traced a line of my ancestors to Dorothea Gertrud Hölterman, *12.8.1658, Tochter of Hermann Hölterman and Dorothea NN of Damme. She married Colon Joh. Friedrich Grever, Ihlendorf. I've found a bit on the history of the Hölterman family, but the history is in German, so it's taking a while to read (I'm only taking German classes now). Looks like the family was once named Müller, and there was a Wassermühle on the farm. My understanding is this waterwheel and building still exists, that it is now a museum in Damme. I was wondering if anyone had any further information on this family. Also, would someone be able to tell me what a "Bördevogt" is? Unfortunately, I can't find a translation.
