Sorry about all the google links in my email, I think I can eliminate that
next time I copy a tree.  Thank you for the tax register information on
Kunnen and Tinnermann.

Thank you also for your note about Suhle - would you be able to point me to
a decent local map and/or a description that delineates the towns and
parishes? I know the Kunnens are from the Oldenburg area, but I show them as
from Hemmelte, Suhle, and Lastrup (sometimes Lastrup parish), but I don't
really know how it all fits together.  You can probably tell from my
references below that I just took the birthplace as from however my source
showed it.

Here are the my Kunnen ancestors who were born in Germany (hopefully without
all those links):

1. Johan Bernard (J. Barney) Künnen (also known as "J.B. Kuennen") (Gerhard
Heinrich5, Joan Gerhard4, Martin Gerhard3, Gerd2, Wessel1) was born June 13,
1837 in Lastrup, Oldenburg, Germany and died August 1, 1911 in St. Lucas,
Fayette County, Iowa.

Father: 2. Gerhard Heinrich Künnen was born About 1798 in Suhle, Oldenburg,
Germany and died October 17, 1881 in St. Lucas, Fayette County, Iowa.

Mother:  Maria Anna Tinnerman was born About 1792 in Oldenburg, Germany6 and
died Between 1837 and 1850 in Oldenburg, Germany.
2. Gerhard Heinrich Künnen8 (Joan Gerhard4, Martin Gerhard3, Gerd2, Wessel1)
was born About 1798 in Suhle, Oldenburg, Germany and died October 17, 1881
in St. Lucas, Fayette County, Iowa.

Father: 3. Joan Gerhard Künnen (also known as "Joan Gerhard Kunnen, Sr.")
was born 1750 in Hemmelte, Lastrup Parish, Germany and died Between 1798 and
1830.

Mother: 4. Angela Rohe was born 1755 in Suhle, Oldenburg, Germany and died

Father:  Johann Rohe14 was born About 173315 and died Unknown.
Mother:  Catherine (Unknown)16 was born About 173517 and died Before 1815.

5. Martin Gerhard Künnen18 (Gerd2, Wessel1) was born September 23, 1708 in
Hemmelte, Lastrup Parish, Germany and died 1784.

Father: 6. Gerd Künnen was born Between 1675 and 1684 in Suhle, Oldenburg,
Germany and died September 7, 1761 in Suhle, Oldenburg, Germany.

Mother: 7. Clara Rempe was born April 24, 1685 in Suhle, Oldenburg, Germany
and died February 8, 1751.

6. Gerd Künnen19 (Wessel1) was born Between 1675 and 1684 in Suhle,
