Jan, I don't have much information on Ludwig von Heese and his family. I've reposted Courtenay's entry from 2003: Seeking information about my 3 great grandfather Ludwig von Heese, his wife Christine Rollmann (or Rohlmann) and any of their 6 children. Ludwig von Heese, wife and 6 children emigrated from Neuenkirchen in late 1834 arriving in Baltimore Maryland aboard the ship Johannes that had sailed from Bremen. They were Catholics. According to US Census records of Allegany and Garrett Counties, Maryland: Ludwig von Heese (Hesen and variations in the US) born about 1782. Christine Rollmann born about 1800. Both Ludwig and Christine state their place of birth as Kingdom of Hannover. Children: Harmon von Heese born 1820, Osnabrueck, Prussia Gertrud von Heese born about 1823, Osnabrueck, Prussia Kathrine von Heese born 1827, Osnabrueck Elisabeth Julia von Heese born about 1828, Osnabrueck Heinrich von Heese born about 1830, Osnabrueck Bernhard von Heese born about 1833, Osnabrueck I found Ludwig von Heese mit Frau und 6 kindern at Kolon bei der Hake zu Neuenkirchen, but that is all it says. (But I was thankful to find their names anywhere, to be honest!) on the webite at http://www.honkomp.de/damme-auswanderung/kapitelz.htm I have recently moved to Muenster, Germany and would appreciate any help. Is there a location nearby that might have records from this time period? Has anyone ever heard of this family? I speak nur Kinderdeutsch :-) but my husband is German so language is not a problem. Thanks in advance, Courtenay I hope this is helpful, Vince
