A quick question for you. Was he RC or Lutheran?

Grüß Gott,

I'm new to the "listies" and look forward to finding my Deutsche cousins. My
Gr Grandfather, William Henry Rollman (Wilhelm Hinrich Rollmann), was born
in the Grand Dutchy about 1810. Sometime prior to 1845 he traveled to
Baltimore. I believe he made this trip in the 1830's. His naturalization
papers name Oldenburg as his country of origin and he was a baker and candy
maker. I realize this information is rather vague, but I hope to have better
information in the near future. Until then, I have a few questions; How
common was this name in Oldenburg in the early 1800's? Are there regions or
towns (parishes) where this name is more prevalent in 1800? What is the
derivation of the name Rollmann in this region?

Ich danke Ihnen dafür, daß Sie mir geholfen haben,
