Hello Jim,

Hello Jim,

This is off-topic, but I noticed that you are in Appleton.

My father's ancestors first settled in Appleton; that great great
grandfather was John Henry Otto and fought in the civil war - Wisconsin
Volunteer Infantry. His unit had a lot of other German immigrants.

Some of my relatives who remain in Wisconsin (we made our way eventually to
Ohio, then to West Virginia, where I still live) know a lot more about our
Wisconsin roots than I do.

If you ever care to correspond with me, please feel free. Our researchers
might have some information that is of some benefit to you, and I'll get you
in touch with them.

Lastly, a cousin of mine edited the John Henry Otto memoirs of his wartime
experiences and had them published recently. The book is titled "Memoirs of
a Dutch Mudsill". Edited by David Gould (my cousin) and James B. Kennedy.
NOT SPAM, I am not sharing in any profits made by this book! I am reading
it - Not likely to be on any Best Sellers List either.

David Otto
