Barb,
The e-mail address to search for towns in Germany is geo(a)genealogy.net
Do not enter a subject. Enter only the name of the town or city in the body of the message, no other words.
I believe this works only with current town names. The answer will include town name, Kreis (County) and German state, map coordinates and population

Subject: [OL] Old German maps

I have a new computer and lost many of my old bookmarks. I am looking for a site that will help me find a German city on an old map. Does anyone know of such a site? I know that I use to have one. In a US Census, it says that my great-grandparents came from Raynbie. All other censuses say Germany. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what Raynbie could be?
