Hello Carolyn,

I found this information on the Hannover website:

   http://aidaonline.niedersachsen.de/

. Brüggemann, Bernard Heinrich
2. 27.08.1839, Hitz-Jöstinghausen Pf Arenshorst A Wit
3. ?
4. Brüggemann, Franz Heinrich, Hitz-Jöstinghausenn
5. keine
6. ?
7. Amerika
8. 17.07.1854
9. ?
10. ?
It is obviously an immigration record, but incomplete. The names of the
towns actually do exist. They are near Ostercappeln which is near Osnabrück.

There is also a record for Maria Brüggemann as well. Oops! I just
realized the date of immigration is 1954. Probably not right people

Brüggemann is a rather common name in Germany - see this:

   http://christoph.stoepel.net/geogen/en/Default.aspx

Also this webpage which is about people all over Germany:

http://meta.genealogy.net/ Use only the Brüggemann name for starters.
Then notice there are 8 pages with that name.

Have you worked on shiplists? You can look at these:
  castlegarden.org and http://www.immigrantships.net/

The name of Brueggemann is quite common. The name Bernard is very common
in the west side of Hannover, near the Netherlands. I have some records
from those towns (Commonly called Emsland) and I will try to search there
before too long. That area is very Catholic.

Barbara

I am searching for information about Bernard Heinrich BRUEGGEMANN,
