Hello,

     If you are researching those names, because they are immigrants to the
U.S., here's a few suggestions:

    Have you looked at U.S. Census records?  Sometimes, but not often, you
will find specific names of towns or cities of birth.

    You might look at the LDS listings of the names Heische and Heischer.
Perhaps you have  already done this. Go to:

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp

  On that page, search by using only the name of Heische and another on the
name of Heischer. If you do that, you can get some ideas where those names
are common. 

  Of course, that isn't a complete list of those with that name.

  Castlegarden.org  is a site with ship lists.  Try that with the  both
spellings  - there are some there.
