Hi Max and others on the list:
Your comment about the (correct) Burgdorf got me to thinking about how we decide which spelling is correct. I am not saying your spelling is wrong, it just brought up the thought.
I think that many of us tend to believe that the current spelling of our surname is the correct one. However, isn't the spelling which was first written in years past the correct one? Don't we sometimes pursue our own vanity? Many times we are searching for the wrong name.
Thoughts?
