Hello again,

If you go to the LDS site:

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp

Go to Family History Catalog and go to Place

You will find records from Adelebsen.

The church records there are a little late (1856-1870)
However, there are civil registration records from 1808 - 1890.

If you wander around with Google for Adelebsen and Knüppel, you will
find many sites with that name. I did not find your Sophie though, but I
would guess you could find something from the LDS civil records. You should
also check on Barterode as well as Lödingsen which are nearby towns.

Here's the page for the church in Adelebsen:
www.ev-kirche-adelebsen.de They do have an email address.

There are two phone listings for Knüppel in Adelebsen:

Knüppel Karl-Heinz Bramburger Str. 2 37139 Adelebsen
05506 84 36

Knüppel Marita Am Ort 2 37139 Adelebsen
05506 78 24

It looks like you are on your way!

Barbara

Adelebsen seems like a very likely match. The town would have been close
