Hello,

   I've been hunting for your Edler/Edeler with no obvious success. Do you
have documentation that Frederick was born in Hannover?  If you find the
name Prussia, that may include Westfalen and there are a number of listings
for that name in Westfalen. You might search here for both spellings:

   I found him in the British Free BMD.  There is a death record in 1877 for
Frederick Edler, age 69, in Shoreditch.  You can order that record which may
show his birth.  Perhaps, you have already done that.
