Julie,
     Good idea to send the copy of the original for everyone to see!
Salzhausen is south of Hamburg, almost straight west of Lüneburg.

    I don't think it really looks like Salzhausen. I think it has to be
something that starts with St...  Maybe Stockhausen. There's one in
Hannover, straight east of Osnabrück northwest of Lübbecke.

   Then there's Stickhausen which is near another small town by the name of
Detern, East of Leer, south of Highway 28, half- way between Leer and
Westerstede. ???

     These are from Hannover.  I have a very detailed German Autoatlas with
a great index.  I'm sure there are other possible names. I think there will
be other people that are more familiar with German script that will help
out.
