Hi Will,

Thanx a stack for your help. I've been on the NAAIRS website a few
months ago, and did find some documents there about my gr. grandfather,
amongst others his "naturalization" documents. That will most probably
state his origin, and maybe port of arrival. As I said, I hope to visit
Pretoria in December, and will most certainly go to the archive to make
copies of it. Apparently one is not allowed to make photocopies, but you
can take photographs thereof, or write down by hand all the detail which
is on the documents.

On the NAAIRS website there is no relevant documents in Cape Town, so I
don't expect much, but just maybe there is something there which is not
on the website.

Thanx again for the help.

Max Ruppert

Hi Willemine,

I see that you're off to Cape Town on Wednesday. So I was wondering if,
while you are there, you can looksee if there is any info on any
Ruppert's. It's not such a common surname, so you will probably find
very little. I have recently started researching my Ruppert roots, but
have the disadvantage that I am presently working in the Middle-East. I
know that there is some documents of my gr. gr grandfather in the
archives in Pretoria, and when I visit there in December (God-willing)I
will definitely go there. But I will certainly appreciate it if you can
see if there s anything in Cape Town. I don't know through which port my
gr gr grandfather came, but I know it was in 1900/01 (Carl Max Ruppert
and his wife Amalie Ruppert with 2-year old son Carl Franz Ruppert)

Greetings from the desert.

Max Ruppert (Max)

Hi Max,
I have found most of my inoformation to date from the Dutch Burgher
Union
journals as it gives origins just before arriving in Ceylon, and so I
have
now go to try the South African ide, I have left messages on message
baords
and contacted a few people with not very much luck.
BTW I also seek the Nel or NELL family of SA , I have found a few but
they
are not connected as yet as somelines stopped and they didnot know where
the
odd Nell's went to nor do they have names so it makes it a bit harder
lol. I
know most of all of the families I seek are from Germany originally.
Thank you for responding.
MaryJane.
